Richard Goodfellow, Head of Energy & Utilities at Addleshaw Goddard, to speak at Success in Renewables

November 12th, 2012 | 12:15 pm

Richard Goodfellow, the head of Head of Energy & Utilities from legal firm Addleshaw Goddard, is to speak at CO2Sense’s Success in Renewables event, 29th November.

As well as his role in Addleshaw Goddard, Richard is a member of the Leeds City Region Green Economy Panel, and has been noted in Chambers & Partners for the last six years as an expert in the energy, infrastructure and utility sphere. He will give an insight into the legal side of developing renewable energy, focusing on the legal barriers and necessities in planning and regulations – and how to avoid expensive delays.

Richard has worked on many high profile renewable energy projects, including the first three RHI deals in the market, all for British Gas, the largest on shore project financed wind farm in England and Wales (Scout Moor), two AD projects in Wales and the Manchester energy from waste scheme. He counts amongst his clients Centrica Group plc, BioGenGreenfinch, Gaz de France Suez, Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation, Coop Group and John Laing.

The event – the only one of its kind in the North – is set to give businesses, public sector bodies and community groups in-depth financial, legal and technical advice on developing renewables. This includes details on how to get investment and options for finance, from investors with experience in developing renewable energy.

Richard joins Alasdair Grainger, Head of UK Feed-in Tariff from DECC, as a speaker at the event. Alasdair will be looking at the future of incentives for renewables. These government incentives, which are index-linked and guaranteed for 20 years, are a major factor in the growth of renewables in the UK.

Tickets are available now. Find out more about the event, and how to book.
